Barcelona February 2013

The Art trip to Barcelona was a very inspiring five days withstanding some very pleasant weather conditions.  We were situated in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, which is full of medieval palazzos, mansions and Gothic churches and whilst we were there the Gothic Quarter set the scene for a lively bank holiday festival.
The highlight of our tour was experiencing first hand Antoni Gaudí’s architectural feats, from the fantastical and functional rooftops of the splendid Casa Milà or La Pedrera, to exotic gardens of Park Güell.

We enjoyed the 'Explosion' exhibition at the Joan Miró Foundation, which exhibited some exciting performance and action work by different artists in response to Jackson Pollock's action painting.

Whether we were negotiating the barriers on the metro or selecting yet another ice cream parlor to try out, the art students were simply the best fun, making the trip a very fond memory.

Do look at some examples of student work below.
