Yr12 and 13 pupils visit the Tate Modern and the work of Mira Schendel(1919-1988).
On Wed 20 November Yr12 explored and worked from the permanent collection at the Tate Modern until we were met by Yr13 pupils and visited the work of Swiss Born artist Mira Schendel, who is regarded to be one of Brazil's most important artists from the 20th Century. After fleeing a war - devastated Europe for Brazil she soon settled into a newly dynamic society with its own emerging art movements. Her work deals with the themes of existence, self understanding, faith and language. It is a very unusually hung show and our students picked up lots of different ideas.
